Introduction.The article substantiates the relevance of the significance of semantic reading of the text in improving the quality of students' education in the context of changing goals and the paradigm of higher education. A review of the main ideas of researchers on the problem of the formation of semantic reading of the text and development (development is the final phase of the transformation process) of a specific student of a technical university through understanding the meaning of the text in physics is presented.The purpose of the article is to justify and disclose the author’s methodology of developing the creative independence of students of a technical university in the process of teaching physics through reading.
Materials and methods.The main research methods are the analysis of literature, the content of teaching physics at a technical university, the practice of university teachers and personal practical experience; activity modeling, creative independence; building the structure and content of the concept; pedagogical experiment; methods of mathematical statistics.
Results.A model of creative independence has been developed, which contributes to the creation of abilities among students of a technical university in the process of teaching physics through reading. The authors described effective methods and techniques of semantic text reading in physics in improving the quality of teaching students of a technical university in the context of the transition from a didactic model of teaching to a transformative one.
Discussion. On the basis of the Institute of Industrial Technology and Engineering of the Tyumen Industrial University, we developed a methodological system and a methodology for developing the creative independence of students of a technical university in the process of teaching physics through reading, and also implemented a methodology in the course of experimental work with junior students of other university institutes.
Conclusion. It is concluded that the implementation of the model of creative independence will contribute to narrowing the gap between the requirements of the external environment and the abilities of a particular student.
